Hello, here are some very useful, non-class specific tips that not everyone may know, especially newer players.

A complete guide to all quests can be found at
http://www.1perfectworld.com/wiki/International-Guides:Introduction

Also, for a complete database on PW, try
www.pwdatabase.com
This is probably the most useful site you will find, giving you information on mobs, items, and game mechanics as well.

Boutique Items (also known as Cash Shop items) can be purchased with Gold. Gold can be bought in the Auction House or using real money (the game calls it Zen). The standard conversion rate is:
1 Gold = $1 US = 100,000 coin.
Keep in mind that Gold is a commodity in PWI, so the price of gold in terms of coin varies--but it will never be lower than 100k coin.

A good way to learn the average price of an object is to check the object's price in the Boutique (if it exists there) or to check the Auction House for that item. For example, if I found a Scarlet Fruit, I would check the Auction House for Scarlet Fruits. The Auction House prices are all skewed higher than normal, because the remaining items are generally the ones that are overpriced. So a good idea is to check for items that have bids on them. That is, click on some items and see if there are any bids by comparing the listen Bid price with the Minimum Bid in the bottom of the window. If people bid an amount on an item, then you know that the item is worth at least that much.

Friendship Crystals are random drops from a lot of mobs. Normally, Friendship Quests require a minimum of 5 players in order to do "properly". However, these can also be used as free XP without ever involving any actual friends! So for lonely or impatient people, just trade in your orb of memories to the Archosaur Elder for 5000xp/1000sp.

At Level 30, all characters can do the daily repeatable quest Crazy Stone. This quest starts at Hou Jenhsi in West Archosaur and requires you to gather (buy) 1 of each type of elemental lvl1 shard. At higher levels, you will need higher level shards to complete this quest. You can manufacture these shards at the Jewelcraftsman. Simply buy the required number of lvl1 shards from the Merchant, then Combine them at the Jewelcraftsman. The Jewelcraftsman will list the number of shards that you need. For instance, to make a Rough (lvl2) alabaster shard, buy at least 3 shabby (lvl1) alabaster shards then go to the Jewelcraftsman, click the first Element tab, and click on Rough alabaster shard. It will check if you have the requisite number (3) in your inventory, and if you do, you can select the number you wish to make then click combine.

At Level 40, all characters can get a free teleport to Archosaur by talking to the Adventure Assistant/Khatru Pup in all of the major cities (Lost, Ether, Plume, Dreamweaver). Just enter the Cube of Fate, run across the room to the Exit Watcher, and tell him you want to exit. You will teleport to NE Arch after a short wait.

At Level 50, all characters should be able to access the secret quest, which gives 142k xp. It is very easy, involving only flying/teleporting between a lot of distant locations. This quest is started by talking to the Elder of Thousand Streams, which is the big city in the NW of the map. Fly high though, the mobs around there are all level 90+.

At Level 70, all characters can start the daily repeatable World Quest. This quest consists of flying to at most 30 NPCs around the world and talking to them. When you hit level 70, talk to the Archosaur Elder to get a Fantasy Token. Once you have this item, talk to Li Mengpai in the CS area of Archosaur to begin. Each new NPC you need to talk to can be found by hovering over the quest item description or by looking for them using the Find Quest button. The standard reward for Lvls 70-79 are 100k/20k xp/sp. This will double for Lvls 80-89, and triple for Lvls 90-99 (for a reward of 300k/60k sp/xp at level 90).

A great and easy way to make money is to gather expensive Materials, especially "Mid Mats". These consist of Refined Steel/Anthracite/Rubstone Powder/Fine Lumber and can be mined from Manganese Iron/Fine Coal/Rubstone/Willow Stake mines respectively. These cannot be farmed until level 40. You can use the Forge in SouthWest Archosaur by General Summer to convert 5 of each Mid Mat into 1 Ultimate Substance, which you can sell for 75-85k. There is a lot of competition for these Mats, so learn some routes or grind near an area that spawns them and watch for their appearance. Mats respawn every 10 minutes after being mined (not on a set timer) so if you are the first to mine them, you will know almost exactly when it will respawn, giving you a huge advantage over other people.

FB TIPS

FBs are special dungeon quests that occur at levels 19/29/39/51/59/70/79/89/99. These are much more difficult than normal quests, and are usually done by getting the help of high level players. FBs usually require "tabs". That is, Call-to-Duty tokens which appear in your inventory upon receipt of the quest. These tabs are used by activating the pillars in the specific FB dungeon. Tabs must be used BEFORE the boss is killed, or credit will not be given for the extra "tab" quest, which is timed (10 hrs).

During FB39, all of the chickens and the giant reverexes explode for a LOT of damage on death, so low levels and low hp players should stay back as far as possible.

For FB51, make sure you do the Scepter quest BEFORE you do your FB run. This quest comes from Count Misfortune and involves killing sharks for sailor suits. You will be given an additional quest for the 3rd FB boss, Myriadtail Wyvern, as a result of this quest.

For FB59, you will need 2 Chiennan Spring Wines. You can trade 10 each of Refined Steel/Anthracite/Fine Lumber/Rubstone Powder to Mister Tso the wine merchant in West Archosaur for 1 wine. Therefore, for this run, you will need 20 of each mid-level material. Start hoarding as soon as possible, because these materials are VERY expensive (average 4k each, 5k for refined steel). Wines are given the the Old Swordsman NPCs at the entrance of each dungeon. They clear out almost all of the mobs, so they save a LOT of time. You do not get credit/xp for these cleared mobs, so for the higher FBs you will need to do the mob quests BEFORE you do the wined run. Also, for FB59, remember to gather the Mysterywood Fruit from Gilded Princesses for the Outcast quest (Level 55) before doing your run. The NPC you need to talk to, Qinghua, is inside the FB.

For FB70, you will need 2 Ancientwell Wines. You can trade 10 each of Steel Alloy/Charcoal/High-grade Lumber/Conundrum Powder to Mister Tso the wine merchant in West Archosaur for 1 wine. Therefore, for this run, you will need 20 of each high-level material. You can generally buy these materials for 2k each if you are lazy and don't want to look. Also, make sure that you do your 20/20/20 run (20 each of 3 different mobs) in Wraithgate in order to get your 2nd and 3rd tabs at Level 70. You will also need to do your Spiritual Cultivation quests before doing your FB (Kill the 2 bosses in swamp) so that you can get the quest for Resentful Pyrosteosis.

Since this original post was created a few things have changed.

1. The conversion rate of "1 Gold = $1 US = 100,000 coin" has long been increased. Lately (since about September of 2009 with the introduction of Anniversary Packs) the prices of gold average anywhere from 300,000 to 400,000. The approximate price increases and drops can sometimes be determined by paying attention to game updates.

2. At level 40 - besides the "Pup Port" to Arch, players also have access to the daily quest Bounty Hunter from a man on the center platform of Arch. You will be given an FB boss (at level 40 it's the FB29 boss) and will have to form a squad to enter the instance and kill it. Upon turning in the quest, you will then receive another quest to kill a boss. You can do this 3 times/day (Bounty Hunter I, II, and III) - keep in mind that II and III give you less experience than I, but in most cases it's still worth the run. When looking for squads to go with, the best place to look is in the center of Arch and be sure to state what boss you need, because everyone's Bounty Hunter I, II, and III's are different.

3. Also at level 40 you gain access to an Attendance Sheet (Not sure of the actual name off the top of my head) daily quest. This NPC for the quest is also in the center of Arch. Simply wait one hour after speaking with her to get your reward of an attendance sheet and a bless box. Save the attendance sheets to gain nice rings. This quest gives no experience.

4. Ultimate Substances now range from 60-70k.

Fixed. :P

Also, the new daily that involves Attendence Sheets is labelled as Roll Call (or RC for short).

Hehe thanks Norby, and yeah I guess calling him Head Hunter is more accurate than "a man", but I also like to call him "that one guy" and "dude" - we have a close relationship.

The guy is constantly sending me on missions that could very well kill me because he's too darn lazy. I'd say we are tight. xD
